Social Justice Project--Chapter 22--Due Tuesday, March 1 by 11 p.m.

Chapter 22 Homework Due Tuesday, March 1 by 11 p.m.

1. REMINDER FROM LAST WEEK: Define the seven vocab terms (full definitions from Glossary) in your One Note using your stylus.

NOTE: Quiz next week on these words and also on the seven deadly sins (again).

2. Read Chapter 22 in text; Make notes in margins and highlight important info.

3. Work on a PPT on your approved topic of interest-concern from below.

PPT Instructions:
a. INTRO: You must define the problem and give examples of concerns for the community or the world;
b. At least seven slides with basic information about the issue;
c. THREATS & Concerns: Define what they are and how they affect the community-world;
d. Include at least five related news stories or research on your issue: Summarize each story in 5-8 sentences and tell how this story is an example of your topic of concern;
e. GOD-CONNECTION: Tie it into God and the Church and our Faith as Christians concerned about Social Justice: Explain and link to the US Bishops (www.usccb.org) or the Church (www.vatican.va) or the Catechism (http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text ); Minimum of three slides;
f.
g. At least 8 Pictures—photos: Caption each one and give the link;
h. A Minimum of one: Graphs or charts may be used to illustrate your topic and its effect on the community—world;
i. Link every fact—every sllde—every picture;
j. Number of slides will vary: Mine was over 60…
k. Proofread—Spell-check—grammar check: Look for typos: You know I will be checking too.

Rubric: 90 points total:
Points will be given as follows:
• Intro with facts: 20
• Threats and Concerns: 15
• Five news stories—summaries and how they relate: 25 points;
• God-Connection: 15
• Pictures—photos: 25
• Graph-charts: 5
• Links for all facts and photos, etc.: 10
• Spelling-grammar—etc. Deduction of points will be taken.

Seven Deadly Sins Homework: Due Monday, February 14 by 11 a.m.

Part I:
Write out the definitions to the Seven Deadly/Capital Sins on page 211 in your One Note:
Study for a quiz next week.

Part II:
On our class FB page:
Post a link to a news story that illustrates two of the seven deadly sins.
1. In your heading name one of the two deadly sins you have chosen to do:
2. Post link to the story;
3. Explain what happened in the story in three or four sentences;
4. Explain why this story is an example of the deadly sin—two sentences.
5. Post a picture or drawing or sign to represent the deadly sin.
6. Post link as to where you got this picture.
7. The Rules:
All posts and pictures must be original;
Spell-check and use proper grammar;
No more than eight people may do each deadly sin: scroll down and count them!!
Be creative!!
